NextGeneration EU plan (post Covid)
Is France trading sovereignty for EU funding?

France took €40.3 billion from the EU’s NextGenerationEU plan to power its post-Covid recovery, pouring nearly half into the green transition and much of the rest into digital modernization and social programs.
Supporters hail a bold show of European solidarity and long-term investment without immediate debt pain.
Critics call it what it looks like: a technocratic bargain that weakens parliamentary control, subjects national policy to Brussels, and could leave France paying back more than it received.
